- Jesus teachings, instructed us to say ”We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which is our duty to do” Lk.17:10. We are saved to serve the Lord, and serve others but born to rule over the powers of the enemy.

In his epistles, he quotes from the Pentateuch, the prophets, the psalms, now literally and freely. He throws a flood of light on obscure passages. Through the revelation of Christ, the Old Testament became the book of life, full of types and promises of the great facts of truths of the gospel salvation. He saw the father of faith, in Habakkuk a preacher of justification by faith, in the paschal lamb a type of Christ slain for the sins of the world.
